Accused of Stealing Plants

My question involves criminal law for the state of: ohio I left a greenhouse with plants and did not pay for them, when I realized that, I was about 500 yards from the business and was turning around to go back when the owner pulled in behind me and blocked my in the church lot. After I found out who he was, I stated that I was on my way back to pay which is why I was turning around, but he said he didnt care he was pressing charges. Officer gave me a citation to appear in magistrate court. Do you think I will have to go to jail for something like this??

Possible however unlikely. How much were the plants worth? How many? What were you cited for?

He can file a complaint with the police, but it's the state that decides if and how to charge you. Keep your mouth shut. If approached by the police or prosecutor, do not speak to them without an attorney.
