Default Lied About Completing Community Service, Now They Want to See Letter Proof

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Connecticut

Well here's a tale of stupidity, dishonesty, laziness and extreme procrastination brought on by social anxiety and depression. Now I'm in a bad predicament.

I've been on probation for over a year for a DUI. I was supposed to take some classes and complete 100 hours of community service. I took the classes but for some stupid reason I lied to my PO and said I have completed the majority of my community service, when I haven't even started it. Well now my probation is almost up and my PO wants to see proof of 100 hours community service this Thursday morning.

I was thinking about attempting to fake the proof but realize that is probably a really bad idea.

I am confident that I can get my community service legitimately done in 1 month even if I have to take 2 weeks off of work and volunteer with many different nonprofits. I am however not confident that they will give me this extra chance especially if I admit to lying to the PO.

I have contacted some local probation attorneys and expect them to hopefully contact me tomorrow morning, but was hoping for some advice in this thread in the meantime.

    Signed -

Hoping to stay out of jail

Wow. You jumped head first into a big, steaming pile of crap. You now have zero credibility with both your PO and the court, once they are informed. Which may occur in a violation hearing.

I know I am almost definitely screwed. I could attempt to tell the PO that the organization I was working for turned out to not be an actual non-profit, unbeknownst to me, and now I have to start over with legitimate registered ones. Of course that is just digging me into a deeper hole.

I guess I'll have to wait to see what the lawyers say. If I have to go to court maybe they will go easier on me if I show up with verifiable proof that I have started working at several nonprofits (or even completed depending on how far the court date out).

I honestly think there is something wrong with me. I get this crippling fear when there's something I don't want to do and procrastinate even to the point where I completely do myself in like this.

That's not a mental issue. Kids do that! Even if you could find somebody willing to diagnose you with a crippling fear of doing what you are told, please don't present that to your PO1 That will only serve a cannon fodder! You are definitely going to be violated. The not for profit thing is weak as well.Take your lumps. Stop lying. Go to your hearing and beg for another chance.

Should I bring an attorney to the probation meeting, or just the violation hearing?

I assume something like https://www.communityservicehelp.com/ is out of the question at this point?

What does "violated" mean exactly, straight to jail for the duration of the suspended sentence?

I mean, if I come into the appointment with a list of 5 legit nonprofits with already scheduled work hours, that can't hurt? I could call around and make that happen over the next few days.

Obviously I messed up big but I am just trying to figure out a way to mitigate the repercussions.

It can't hurt, but it won't necessarily help either. You lied to your PO over something extremely petty. The PO, the department and the court know how silly that was. Now you have to hope that you can plead your way out of this. A violation means that you did not abide by your obligations to the court and you have given the court the ability to void the contract that you agreed to complete.
