My question involves criminal law for the state of: TX
I saw that sworn statement that seems peculiar, it begins with "I, the undersigned affiant, do solemnly swear that I have good reason to believe and do believe....."
Wouldn't the written text record what was being sworn, such as I, John Lastname, do solemnly swear that I have good reason to believe and do believe....." ?
And should the statement use the individuals legal name to correctly identify the affiant, say for example a person commonly known as John Lastname, but whose actual legal is actually Juan, wouldn't that be using an alias and defeat the purpose of being sworn as true and correct statement of fact?
