Default Can I Move Out at Age 17

I would like to know if it is actually legal to move out of the house at the age of 17 without getting arrested for still beig a minor. My mom has threatened to call the police on me if I moved out without her consent. I've searched many websites and many blogs and threads that say it IS legal to move out at age 17 legally. I want to know for various reasons but mainly because one website out of about 100 said it was 18 as of recently so I'm a little confused at that. I have a good job that pays well and so does my bf and we are saving every penny we can to make this work. I'm tired of living with my family and would like to get an apartment with my bf when I turn 17. I just need an answer as to if that's legal and if I would be able to live in that apartment without getting arrested or my bf getting arrested. He will still be 18 when I'm 17 we have mutual feeling towards each other and plan on getting married in a few years. We both don't like the lifestyle we are currently living in and figured it would be best to move in with each other to see how that works. I don't want him to get in trouble as I am still a minor :/ but he has no intention of laying his hands on me physically at all. We are very much in love and would just like a peaceful place to live together without the chaos of our families. Please help give me an answer that's solid and to the point I would very much appreciate it. Thanks

    Mom's correct.

If you and your boyfriend are mature enough to want to treated as adults, you can wait until you're 18 - surely?

Missouri has a quirk in the law which means that many police officers may be reluctant to return home a 17 year old in a safe place. That does NOT mean that it is legal for you to move out or that your parents could not personally toss you in the car and return you home without the aid of law enforcement. It also does not mean that NO police officer will take you back home or that there is no other legal action your parents can take.

When you are 18, you can live anywhere you like and no one can stop you. Until then, if it's real, it will wait till you're 18. If it won't last till your birthday, you don't need it anyway.

CBG is correct. That does not mean an 18 year old harboring the minor cannot and will not be charged.

Now that is LOVELY to hear.

That shows at least some level of maturity.

Good for you, Courtney. Good for you
