My question involves criminal law for the state of: MI
Im a student in Michigan, out of state from CT. I am on probation for my second MIP. I got approved to leave the state for summer and live at home. However, now that I am trying to find a place to do my breathalyzer testing I realize that there aren't any. I am assuming this must be because CT probation is structured differently. I have found places that do breathalyzer tests but I have two problems with that: I have an internship in NYC and I need to leave around 7:30 am and they aren't open that early and also NONE of them are open on Sundays and I often have to go blow on Sundays. I have tried to think of all kinds of ways to figure this out my final idea being purchasing a DOT approved breathalyzer with a printer (very expensive ~$800). I am totally willing to do this and blow when I am supposed to as if I were in Michigan. But do you know if probation officers allow this? He mentioned it once and said people often rent them to go on vacations and be able to comply with probation...but I feel like since he won't know if its actually me blowing into it he won't approve of it for 3 whole months.....has anyone had a similar situation or another possible solution? Or does anyone know anything about how probation works in CT and where they do testing? Thanks.
