Not sure if this is where to post this one--but... my husband had a brain tumor in 1999. He had chemo and radiation to head and spine. He has had 7 years of clear MRI's. He is not in state prison for the last 19 months. Two months after he got there he got valley fever, he has been ill almost the whole time . It took us 1 year to get a MRI which is done yearly and then they did a ct scan of his bones. At that time everything was good. About 4 weeks ago he started to have pain in his lower back, then it went away and his legs and feet started to feel numb. since that time he has been in the Medical office 3-4 times but they seem to think he is lying since the scans he had were ok. In California and many other states inmates recieve sub standard health care as many of you may know. They say he is now being treated but for what? If this is something that he will have for the rest of his life due to the fact that they did not dx it soon enough, can a law suit be filed against the department of corrections for anything-medical neglect? I don't know but I have fought with them for the last 19 months just to get some care for him. Also he is going to be deported and the last time he was in the medical office the not so nice nurse told him you are lying and anyway they are going to deport you so they won't do anything to help. May I ask how she knows he will be deported? He never told her. Is there anything that can be done?
