Default Owner Wants to Fire Property Management Company

My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Oregon

I have just moved into a house in which I have a year lease. The owner has decided to to sell the house and has been harassing me with daily phone calls. I am trying to have everything go through the property management company in order to keep things reasonable and civil. The owner is now saying that they are going to fire the property management company. The lease that I have is with the property management company. Can the owner fire the property manager while I still have a contract?

If the lease was EVER valid, it is still valid if the owner switches property management companies (or choses to manage the property himself). Even if the house is sold, your lease is still binding on the new owner. About the only thing that can invalidate a lease early is foreclosure, and with the current laws even that is SEVERELY limited.

The only question is that you say the lease is with the property manager. That doesn't sound legitimate. Hopefully, it was a lease with the OWNER with the manager as his agent.

I know that the lease is valid and that it survives any changes. My question was if the property manager can be fired while they are in the middle of the lease period.

A property manager or management company can be fired or changed at any time, subject to whatever contract they have with the landlord. They're an employee or agent of the landlord. Whether your landlord keeps the same manager, hires a new one, or manages the property himself has no relevance whatsoever to your lease.
