Getting Custody Due to Mother Being Charged With a Felony Sex Offense

My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Idaho. Father was never notified at time mother arrested and only found out when he saw it in the repository on line and since has tried to get child out of mothers physical custody. Shouldn't he have been notified by law at time of arrest and can't he get temporary custody during proceedings?

The alleged offense happened how long ago? Charges were filed how long ago? What is the present status of the charge? Is mom incarcerated? Are the kids being properly cared for? How do the charges affect mom's present ability to care for the children? What's the general background of the case, dad's present role in the children's lives, etc?
