My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Florida
I got pulled over after taking a right turn at a stop light by campus police on the last day of the month. I was cited for "failing to obey traffic control device. ran a flashing red light". However, the time I was pulled over was right when that traffic light changed from normal operations to flashing mode. Furthermore, I know that Florida has the law where it is legal to turn right at a red light without stopping as long as the driver is prudent. I was turning from a road with a 20 mph speed limit and I definitely braked for the light. However, I don't remember if I came to a complete stop or not. Nevertheless, I know I was cautious enough to look left, right, and then left again.
Unfortunately, I do not know where the police officer was hiding and so cannot gauge his view. This is my first ticket and I feel like it was unjustly given as I was driving safely. What should I do?
