My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: California
I moved into a friends apartment a month ago and paid the full amount of the rent. My friend has since left the apartment and is not coming back he said just pay the rent and stay. He is on the lease, I am not. The landlord has run my credit and concluded I did not qualify for the apt. and wants me to leave. I have a child and all of our stuff is moved in. I don't want to move again. What are my rights if they don't accept the rent from me? Do I have to move? Am I breaking the law?
