    Default Sexual Penetration with Force

My brother-in-law was taken to jail for allegedly being accused of Sexual Penetration with Force. After research I have found the Penal Code which is: 289(a). My husband and I are really shook up because we don't know if he did do it or not. My friend, who went to the police because of the supposed occurence, also went to go get DNA testing. She went to the police, and 20 minutes later 3 cops showed up at our place, and arrested him. They took him to the local detention center. We found out later that his arriagnment will be this Tuesday, via satellite with the judge. We have no idea about sexual offenses. If anyone knows anything about the charge/description, possible outcomes, fines, jail/prison time, whether he is found guilty--- or not guilty. Please enlighten me! He just turned 18 in June, first offense of any kind dealing with the law. The victim is 20 (female). I'm mainly curious about the amount of time he will be in the detention center now, will he stay in there until the trail is completely over? How much to fines cost? What are possible jail sentences for "sexual penetration with force"? Thank you sooo much!

You don't say what state you are in, but if it is California, take a look at this.
