Minor Misdemeanor Marijuana Possession in Ohio

I have a few questions regarding a minor misdemeanor marijuana possession citation I was recently given in Ohio. First, If i was given a citation but not taken to the police station, or finger printed does this constitute an arrest, and will it show up on my arrest record. Second, I have an upcoming BCI background check for a job in which I am currently employed. Will the pending charge show up in a BCI background check if I have not yet been convicted. Last, If I do a determent program and the case is dismissed will this show up in a BCI background check. I have contacted an attorney but he is out of town and I will be unable to contact him this week. I am worried because my BCI check is this week and I do not know whether to divulge the incident to my employer before hand, or to wait until the matter is resolved. Thanks for any help.

There are many definitions of "arrest" - if you were detained by the police because you committed a crime, and not permitted to leave prior to being issued the citation, that is an "arrest". If you define "arrest" to include a booking, obviously you were not booked at that time; but that's semantics.

I'm not sure what you believe an "arrest record" to be, but when you are charged with a crime you can expect that crime to show up on your criminal record. Nobody here can promise you that your prospective employer won't learn of your charge.
