My question involves guardianship in the State of: Louisiana
My sister and I are tired of living with my mother and are wanting our grandparents to have custody over us. My sister is 17 and I am turning 15 next month. Our grandparents said that they would rather us live with them than live with my mother and my step father, but we know my mother would give an immediate "NO" if we asked to live with them. How can we live with our grandparents without our parent's consent.
About a two years ago my mother married my stepfather and there has been much tension in the whole family since then. I have planned on moving out myself, but I know that would turn into bad consequences. My sister and I get in verbal fights with our parents every other week and I have to control myself to not get violent. Our grandparents have told us multiple times that they would rather us live with them because they can't stand us living in our house. Before my mother married my stepfather, we lived in our grandparents house and they were pretty much our parents. They fed us, clothed us, and supported us in everything financially while my mother did barely anything for us. Even now my grandparents buy our food and clothing, the only way we are being supported by my mother is by living in her house, which is owned by my stepfather's PARENTS.
Please tell me how my grandparents can have legal guardianship over us without my parent's consent, if we also agree with the decision.
