My question involves court procedures for the state of: IL
I have a question that relates to IL Supreme Court Rule 343. In the case of multiple appellees, the appellant’s reply brief is due 14 days after the latest due date of the last appellee’s brief.
My question is: is the appellant restricted to only reply brief (in other words a combined reply) or is he permitted to file one reply brief to each appellee brief that has been filed?
Common sense dictates that the appellant must be able file one reply brief for each appellee brief, or failing that, the page limit on the one reply must be extended to reflect the multiple appellee briefs. The rule is unclear on this point. Thanks in advance.
