    Default Getting Legally Emancipated

My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Arkansas

I was told by my mothers lawyer for her divorce that I am basically emancipated and don't need to worry about going to court because I have my own place and I take care of my daughter by myself. However, I want to make my emancipation legitimate and not be just considered emancipated. Am I wrong for worrying about this? And how do I go about getting emancipated in Arkansas? I do have my parents support and permission.

    No, you are not emancipated.

You are medically emancipated - meaning you can make decisions regarding your own healthcare (to a degree) and that of your child without your parents' consent, but you are absolutely not considered legally emancipated at this point.

    Are you fully self-supporting?

Yes. I have a job, pay all of my bills and I make sure my daughter and I have everything we need without any help from my parents. I am independent. (Not because they make me or neglected me though, I decided all of this for myself after I had my daughter so my parents wouldn't have to take care of my responsibilities because of the bad decisions I had made, me and my daughter could live off of them but thats not okay in my opinion)

Well, other than the fact that you need to be 17, read this:

Thank you for this information. If I could ask another question it would be could my parents get in to any trouble for allowing me to live on my own? They do check on me at least twice a week or more and leave me with money every visit they like me to have extra cash on hand in case anything was to come up unexpectedly even when I insist them not to.
