My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Pennsylvania
Two parents share physical and legal custody. One party (mother) was receiving medical, snap, energy, etc benefits for a child. This same party (mother) is living with parents who also receive these benefits separately. This party (mother) tells the other party (father) "I'm not getting these benefits anymore for our child" and the other party (father) applies and is denied because benefits were disbursed, without his knowledge, to the child's grandparents (mother's parents). Since when are Grandparents, under any condition, allowed to receive state assistance for children they have no responsibility for when both of the actual true parents need this assistance for the welfare of their child?
