If what you are saying is true then the general populace would have called for a referendum years ago, but guess what it's been 17 years and Medical Marijuana is still available.
I'm fairly certain you can't go to a doctor with any "owie" and get recommended for the use of medicinal cannabis.
Personally I would consider: Depression, Anxiety, Sleep Deprivation, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Rape-Trauma Syndrome, and similar disorders as "seriously ill" if a patient is diagnosed with 2 or more of these.
You wouldn't consider this as something treatable by the medicinal use of cannabis?
Yeah I do agree with you Carl that a lot of people barely turn 18 and go to a less than reputable physician with complaints of minor issues and are recommended the use of marijuana to alleviate these issues, but from what I have seen and heard these recommendations are only valid for 90 days and they must come in to meet with the physician after the 90 day period to see what effects it's use is having and if they will further benefit from the use of medical cannabis opposed to other forms of alleviation.

Actually, the laws may be on the books in WA but as far as I know they are not in force yet.
Meaning you have nowhere to purchase marijuana for non-medical purposes. You have no regulation of these new laws, and you probably won't have any places to purchase marijuana and most likely it will not take effect until next January when everything is figured out. And even if you do get the marijuana shops up and running, unless there is an amendment made to the Controlled Substances Act of 1970 I believe that the DEA will be likely to "raid" these stores that decide to sell pot, stores like gas stations, Walmart, and other local and national chains in both WA and CO.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's my understanding.
Nobody here is interested in arguing with you. You've been told what the law is.
