    Default How Soon Must a F1 Visa Holder Leave the U.S. After Dropping Out of School

    Hi-

    I am in the united states on an F1 visa. My semester at school ends May 18th, but I may have to drop my classes and drop out by April 1. Am I immediately out of status ? When do I have to leave the United States? If I can start at a new school by June 15th would I still have to leave?

    If you drop out, you lose your status immediately, and have 15 days to pack your things and go back home.
