Default What Happens When a Minori is Caught Underage Drinking

My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Indiana
My daughter is going to a party tomorrow. She is not the type to drink or do anything and has told me she wasn't planning too anyways. She's just there to hang out with her friends. My question is if the party gets busted and she has no alcohol in her system, will she get in trouble? Will they just call me to get her? Or will she get some sort of ticket? If she does get a ticket, how long does it stay on her record for? She has never gotten in any trouble before but i don't want this ruining her record forever.

Default Indiana Laws Involving Underage Drinking

If im at a party that gets busted, and have no alcohol in my system, will i get a ticket? What will the cops do, call my parents or just send me home? There is a guarentee of alcohol being at the party, but if i don't drink can they still ticket me for being at the scene of the crime?

If a minor is caught in possession of alcohol, actual or constructive, she risks being charged with that crime. If you are caught committing a crime, you can be arrested and taken to jail or juvie.

Given that you're a teenager, your daughter can't be much more than a toddler, if that, so you would potentially be looking at criminal charges for leaving her at an unchaperoned party where your teenage friends were boozing it up, even if nobody spikes her formula.

If you go to a party where others are drinking and the party is busted...

    - A ticket. Jail or Juvenile Detention are possible.
    - The host would be ticketed as well for allowing a minor near alcoholic beverages.
    - If you have a drivers license, you can lose it for 6-12 months. If you don't have a license, it can be delayed for 6-12 months.
    - You may be ordered to attend AA meetings and prove you attended every session ordered.

Seriously....if you have to ask....don't go to this party. You already know alcohol will be there or you would not be asking.
