Default Grandparents threatening to take grand-daughter

I seem to have alot of friends in trouble lol. I am the come to source.. you know the shoulder to cry on. Gets tiring but I do what I can to help out.

I heard from a friend of this particular thread of something one of his friends are dealing with so I hope all the details are correct.

From what he told me his friend ( male ) got his gf pregnant and wanted to be a father. Well the baby was born and the grandparents told him to go away ( Grandparents are the Mothers birthparents ) and they threatend to make false allegations ( think thats right ) against him to get him in serious trouble. Well he left to keep out of any conferntations with the police.

Approximately a year later he was in the US Army and decided it was time to stand up against the grandparents, they were both near 17 and now he is 18 and she is still 17 but he is Active Duty and making good money. The grandparents are threatening to take the child if thier daughter returns to the boyfriend or even contacts him. The grandmother is recieving Death Benefits from the Daughter's birth father and will continue to recieve them until she graduates highschool. So my friend thinks this is the main reason why the grandmother and the grandmothers husband are threatening to take custody. Personally I think it's a bluff but to be on the safe side I am here.

If they get married he draws BAH which is Housing Allowance of $700 he draws a monthly check of $1500 and with the child he would recieve other Allowances to bring that ammount up higher. She doesn't want to stay home anymore and when she turns 18 she wants to marry him so my question is: If they get married and the Grandparents take up a Custody Battle what are the odds they would win? The father of the baby can get On-Post housing and the schooling on post is fairly secure for both the Mother and the Child to attend to get schooling. He had a Restraining Order against him in the past due to a weird statement ( I think one of his ex's made it up ) I'm not to sure of those details but can they use the past Restraining Order against him in a Custody Battle? And what all would they need to make sure they can provide to ensure a better chance of winning? From what I am told they want to make sure everything is completely set up for when they decide to get married so that nothing can happen so Thank you for your help.

Laws vary by state, so you need to provide that information. Also, is your friend established as the child's legal father?

Uhm no, the birth certificate has no known father on record.

It was her mother's decision to do it that way.

Until he establishes paternity, he has no rights to custody or visitation.

Beyond that, as was previously stated, laws vary by state.
