Can an employer fire an employee that is off on medical leave for NOT paying for health insurance?....I have worked for a company for almost a year, next week is a year. And I had lung cancer removed on Feb. 1, 2013, they took 2/3 of my right lung. I am still out on medical leave. The HR dept. called me today and told me that I was terminated for NOT paying for my health insurance. Is this legal???
