Can I Lie About a Confession

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Maryland. I sold a brownie to student #1. They gave it to student#2 without my knowledge.Later during the day, administrators took me and questioned me about it. Student #2 had went on the hospital with a very high heart rate. They had no evidence but they said a couple of students have identified me as the person who sold it. I eventually confessed and I was charged with distribution. All they have against me is the students. I have court coming up so i was wondering if I should go through the trouble of buying a lawyer. Or should I lie and say I had no involvement with anything. Any help would be appreciated

Well...if you lie to authorities, you are in even deeper trouble....

Your parents need to get you a lawyer.

Since you already made a voluntary confession, you really need a lawyer. You will look foolish on the stand exercising your right to remain silent.

If your facing a serious felony charge then yea call a lawyer asap and listen to what they say.
