Default Caught Stealing Merchandise from My Employer

My question involves criminal law for the state of: michigan.
i am an 18 year old kid and in the month of january i was working for best buy. i was dead broke with all the debt i was trying to pay off and really stupid. i had stolen 2 ipod touches and an iphone from the stock room, i had gotten caught and arrested from the store. i gave back the iphone but sold the two ipods. so best buy wants me to pay $400 by april. the arresting officer told me they would send a letter 2 weeks after that night they let me go and i had just recieved it 3 days ago saying theres a warrant for my arrest, i have no money to get to the police department and am trying to get a way there. i really dont want to go to jail. this is my first and going to be only offense because i will never be this stupid again. i cant afford to go to jail i have a business im running and building and i have alot of debt that i need to pay off. i have an apartment that im living in that has to get paid with alot of my stuff inside and if i lose that then i lose everything. i really dont want to go to jail let alone prison. please any advice would be greatly appreciated. :'(

The time to worry about potentially going to jail was before you committed a crime. It is no longer within your control whether you go to jail or not.

    Call a lawyer. Yesterday.

That was actual advice. You should get an attorney. Apply for a public defender if that's the only way to get one. But you're not going to avoid jail time easily if at all going at it alone.

What, you thought an internet message board could give you a series of steps by which you can commit criminal acts but avoid jail without legal counsel?
