Bringing a Minor Over State Lines

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Ohio
My daughter is turning 18 in less than three months and wants to go to a music festivel in Miami, Florida with her 19 year old boyfriend. She bought the tickets for the show and plane with her own money. The concert is three days and she will have to miss two days of school. However, I do not have custody of her anymore. Her mother has sole custody and does not want her to go. If she goes with her boyfriend against her mothers wishes, can her mother press charges on the boyfriend for kidnapping even though she willingly went? Thank you

If the concert is before she turns 18 - yes, mom can press charges against the 19 year old.

Didn't your daughter think to ask permission before buying her tickets and airfare? Mom can refuse to let her attend.
I think Mom can also report her as a runaway if she goes.

It would not be kidnapping, although other offenses might be implicated. If you're conspiring in this behind mom's back, in violation of the custody order, you could find yourself in trouble as well. Did she buy the plane tickets with your credit card?

My daughter used my credit card to buy everything. I still see my child as if I do have shared custody but it just Is not in writing. She had told me her mother had already approved but later it came out she had not. He tickets were 700$ and not to mention hotel room and air fare.


If not kidnapping are you aware of other charges her mother could press?
