Default F1 student married a US citizen

    Hi everyone,

    My name is John.

I just got married recently to the love of my life.

Im currently in school on an F1 Visa and she is a US citizen.

    What steps should i take?

I went to the UCIS website....but these are the specific problems im facing:

    a) My wife cannot support me at 125% of the poverty level (the I-864, i think or the Affidvit of Support). Do we even have to file the Affiavit, since im allready in the USA (have been for 2 years now).

    b) What is my Alien Registration Number? I dont think i have anything like that anywhere in my documents....i do have an I-94 though.

    c) I have always reported a change of adress to my University within 10 days as per University policy. Should i also have to fill the AR-11(change of adress form)?

    Thanks in advance,

    John

The USCIS offers instructions on what to file here. If you can't meet income requirements through your spouse, consider getting a cosponsor.

It's the same as your I-94 number.

If you change your address you should file an AR-11. The form and instructions can be found here.

    Thanks a lot Mr. Know-it-all.

    One further questiton/enquiry/fear filled question....

Its news to me that i have to file the AR-11 each time i move residence.

Im a student in USA and because of financial constraints had to move time and again(well, 4 times in toto).

I always reported to the International Programs Office but never to the INS/Sevis.

I do want tto report , now that im aware of the rule....what can be done to report my residence history?

Or is it better to just report my last move?

    Hoping you "know-it-all"
    Sincerely,
    Bablu
