My question involves paternity law for the State of: rhode island

I've come to find out the mother of my child moved recently just before I was able to have her served. My lawyer contacted me asking if I had a new address. I don't.

My question is isn't this something that the constable/sheriff or whomever does the serving would be able to find out? I have her old address. I could contact her directly via email but that would probably end badly and I doubt she's give me the info as she's expressed her desire for me to not be a part of my child's life.

Do I really need to track down her address myself?
