My question involves criminal law for the state of: Hawaii
I am a Store Manager for a national retail company. A shoplifter recently stole from my location over $300+ worth of merchandise. He then returned two days later (wearing the same shirt) and stole $800+ worth of merchandise. After reviewing the surveillance cameras it does not show a clear face of the shoplifter however the mannerism is the same as well as shoes, and height. I was able to find the name of the company from off shirt the shoplifter was wearing from the surveillance cameras. (I can only assume he works for this company but there are pictures where there workers are dressed alike posted on their website) Am I able to approach the company, show them surveillance of 'their employee' and have them give me his name and contact info of the employee or is that something only offical police authorities can do? (I've already filed a police report and submitted the surveillance evidence)
What would be the best way to find this person and have him prosecuted?
I appologize if I posted in the wrong thread as this is my first time.
