My question involves personal finance in the State of: Texas
On january 31st i withdrew 200 dollars from an atm. the atm dispensed the money but quickly sucked it back in. After calling customer service, i was told to file a claim which i did. today i got word that my claim was denied because "- Our records provide a receipt number and an approval code for the charge. This indicates that the transaction processed successfully.
- This is an ATM controlled by Higher One. We have checked the balancing of this particular machine and it is in balance. "
what is the best step to take now?
also having additional problems with this bank: after i filed my claim on the 31st, higher one sent me a new debit card (because of the atm situation being considered "an unauthorized transaction") WITHOUT ASKING ME OR TELLING ME THAT THEY HAD DONE SO. my rent was due on the 1st of feb and late on the 4th, but because my card had been cancelled without my own authorization, i couldn't access my funds on time. when i called them about this they said there as nothing they could do
needless to say i am absolutely appalled with this bank.
Additional information:
i made a following withdrawal right after the failed one because my car got towed and i needed money immediately which means i was the next person to use the atm. i got my money successfully the second time, but not the first. however - i was still charged for both.
I go to UNT and they distribute financial aid on a debit card system that is run by a company called Higher one. they're all about using online and mobile banking so they don't run any branches that one can walk into. i've been using higher one for 2 years and this is the first time i have ever had a problem with them. i would have switched to a new bank if i had known that this would happen. but either way - i cant get my money from the school without them. I also can't make cash withdrawals for money orders and rent paying without the use of an ATM
