Default Minor in Possssion of Alcohol - Should I Hire a Lawyer

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Texas

I am 18. I got a ticket for minor in possession of alcohol. I had been drinking and admitted to it but never got a ticket for consumption. The cops also did a field sobriety test to see if I was okay to drive home because my ride home was an hour away. In court, do I have to say I was drinking since I didn't get a ticket for it? Also, do I need an attorney or will getting an attorney not make much of a difference in my punishment? I am planning on doing community service to get it off my record.

If you go to court and do what? Plead guilty? Go to trial and choose to testify on your own behalf?

It would be sensible to consult a local lawyer to find out what dispositions judges typically give for similarly situated defendants facing your charge, and determine from there if it would make sense to hire a lawyer.
