My question involves police conduct in the State of: Illinois
Please take this serious. I was an informant many years ago.
I may have provided the wrong information or at at least some, but I believed what I said to the best of my knowledge.
The legal case is long over, however.
Situation:
Imagine you know a couple of lovers. Both of them are druggies. You find out. You get too close to the truth, and they threaten you with illegal police action. They claim to control the city police. You believe they are drug dealers. You believe they are mafia and/or have mafia ties.
As such, you decide to report a problem of this to the FBI.
Now, the FBI catches wind of this. They talk to the local police, and the local police send a squad over to the house to investigate the issue.
Questions:
1) What happens if none of the allegations are true?
2) What if you had reason to believe (some form of evidence), but none of the allegations are true
3) What if you had reason to believe (some form of evidence), but one of the individuals at least is in possession of the drugs?
4) What if you had reason to believe (some form of evidence), but none of the individuals are in possession of the drugs?
5) What if you had reason to believe (some form of evidence), one of them is a dealer and the other knows about it?
5) What if you had reason to believe (some form of evidence), one of them is in possession and the other has drug in her system?
I read over the legal case. It looks like they were thrown in the slammer right away. It would appear that there was a lack of evidence to immediately put them in the slammer. The boyfriend was in possession, and the girlfriend... I do not know, but I suspect she had the drugs in her system from what I have read. Please, still consider the questions. I do not understand why they were put in jail right away. The criminal evidence was considered "information," which was my information years ago. The other aspect of this case is that the boyfriend was abusing the girlfriend. He may have been making her sell the drugs for him.
I dated ex-girlfriends who got into this kind of stuff. I gave the FBI probable cause. I had seen the trend before. It was my goal to prevent a guy from turning a girl into a drug dealing slave.
