How Long Does It Take to Complete an Unemployment Appeal

My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: CA

Recently, I received my claim forms late from EDD. So I mailed them back in late which resulted in a phone interview. I explained to the EDD employee that I received them late and she accused me of lying. A few days later, I received a written decision that my benefits for the 2 weeks in question would be denied. Along with this letter was a form to appeal. I mailed in my request for an appeal. How long does it take to get an appeal hearing? Is it possible that with the supporting evidence that I submitted that they will waive the appeal and grant me the weeks that were denied?

CA is pretty good about accommodating its claimants. If the decision goes against you, your original monetary determination is not affected. You just resume collecting two weeks later. You will get all your money, just not those two weeks retroactively.
