My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Pennsylvania.
I am looking for some information on whether or not we can break a lease due to the following conditions.
After we signed our lease for the unit we are renting we found out that the unit does not have a temperature control in the unit. The unit has radiant heat and is extremely hot or extremely cold all the time. It is currently very cold in pittsburgh and the windows have to be open at all times in order to keep the room cool enough to be bearable. My wife suffers from a condition that is very climate sensitive and she is having issues. We have contacted to the landlord to fix the issue but they have not really done anything.
Not having a temperature control in the unit a justifiable reason to break a lease?
I just separated from the Navy and my wife is at the unit alone until our goods are moved to Pittsburgh. She is miserable, can anything be done?
Thanks,
Adam
