    Default Divorce and Alimony

My question involves a marriage in the state of:Arizona
My husband and I got married in Ohio, I moved away two years ago because he abused me. Raping me with my son in the room was my last straw! He was the sole income. As a matter of fact, he stalked me off several jobs! He is a Union Pipefitter. He earns close to 80,000 a year. However I am unemployed, with a terrible work history due to him. Can I get spousal support from him?

At the most, you'd get very temporary spousal support (if any at all) while the divorce is pending.

Spousal support is VERY rarely ordered for such a short-term marriage. Sorry.

I'm not sure how short-term the marriage was, but apparently we're talking about a two-year separation. That, on top of the interstate issues, would complicate the argument for rehabilitative spousal support.

Does your husband still live in Ohio? Have you ever sought a custody or child support order and, if so, in what state?

    You're right, I missed that.

    Sorry!

It also complicates things because she's survived without alimony for two years - she might find it very difficult to justify why she needs it now.
