Does the earnings report from social security which shows the name of employers, income per year etc... represent gross or net income? I am trying to find out how much I made per month from a job I had many years ago. They IRS told me that they cannot go back that far to make copies of my employers tax filings or my own income tax filings.
I also need proof that the employer differentiated between "active" pay and "severence" pay. The IRS told me that there is no established procedure in place to differentiate and has never been one. Is this true? I know this second question is more of a tax question.
