My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Nebraska, Lincoln
I have a friend who was pulled over by the police last night for negligent driving (10.14.290) and for not having an operators license (10.16.060).
She is a foreign exchange student, here on a 4 year program. This is her first offense.
She asked me how long this would stay on her criminal record, because periodically foreign students (She is Chinese) must have their visa's renewed by their government. If they have something on their record, they are much less likely to get it renewed to come back (esp. China for obv. reasons.)
She has a court date, or she can pay a fine. She isn't sure what to do. Would appearing in court result in anything better than just paying the fine? I highly doubt appearing in court would help her in this matter.
Thanks
