My question involves restraining orders in the State of: New York (Manhattan)
I have a neighbor who confronted my husband this morning over our dog's use of a common backyard (we let her use it when it's winter and no one uses the yard...there is no grass and we always pick up after her). Later that morning, when I went to retrieve the laundry and had the dog with me, the neighbor again confronted me over the dog's use of the yard. He raised his voice and was very intimidating. When I needed to leave the laundry room for the elevator, he blocked the elevator and continued to be aggressive and threatening. and would not leave the area (and his body position prevented us from leaving the area). I am worried that this neighbor will be aggressive in the future. If that is the case, is there anything I should do now in the event that I need to look into a restraining order? Would an order even be possible if he has not physically assaulted us?
