My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Washington-
About June 2012 my power and water were shut off due to lack of funds. I was receiving 242.00 per week from unemployment but after child support I cleared 110.00. My power and water bill all on same because it is city owned, was running 300.00 to 340.00 per mo, anyhow I couldn't keep up.
It took us until December to get them turned back on. My new neighbor and I got to talking when I mentioned the lights should be back on next week. I was complaining about the interest they charged, when she corrected me with how much my bill infact was.
When I looked a little confused she said ..ooh the city told me. I have had problems like this for years, infact one of the ladies that worked there was just convicted of embezzling something like $500.000.
I'm not sure, but would be willing to bet if I go and ask to see the mayor's bill, they would tell me NO. Which I plan to do on Monday...do they have the right to give out mine? B.T.W....neighbors were thinking of paying for me.
