My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: CALIFORNIA
MY LANDLORD IS REFUSING TO GIVE ME RECEIPTS FOR THE RENT I HAVE PAID IN CASH. I KNOW I AM ENTITLED TO A RECEIPT, AND I AM SURE THE LANDLORD KNOWS THEY ARE TO PROVIDE RECEIPTS FOR PAYMENTS RECEIVED. WHAT IF ANYTHING CAN I DO ABOUT THIS. I REQUESTED THE RECEIPTS FROM THE LANDLORD FOR TWO REASONS, ONE I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A RECEIPT FROM THEM FOR EACH MONTH I PAID, THE OTHER REASON BEING THAT I DISCOVERED I WAS BEING CHARGED TOO MUCH ON MY LATE FEE ACCORDING TO THE RENTAL AGREEMENT. I DID NOT STATE THE REASONS WHY I WANTED THE RECEIPTS TO THE LANDLORD WHEN I REQUESTED THE RECEIPTS, ONLY TO SAY THAT I AM ENTITLED TO A RECEIPT FOR PAID RENTS AND HAVE YET TO RECEIVE ANY
