    Default Is Unwanted Texting Illegal

I live in California. I met this girl who is bipolar. I thought we were friends but she went psycho on me. She also went psycho on another friend of mine trashing her apartment, stealing clothes, slashing her tires, etc. I've been texting her. She has asked me to stop and she claims she filed a police report. Is the police going to show up at my door if I keep texting her?

If she told you to stop texting her, stop texting her. It could result in a visit by police if you continue. Walk away.

Your armchair diagnosis of her is "psycho" and "bipolar" - what's your diagnosis of yourself, for harassing somebody you deem to be "psycho"?

    They call that harassment.

It's not an armchair diagnosis. She is bipolar and psycho. I feel better after texting her. She is a crazy bitch who belongs in a mental health clinic or prison. Trust me. She is a menace to society.

So, by virtue of your nonetheless harassing her, does that make you a masochist or an idiot? (Not that I want to create a false dichotomy... perhaps you're both?)

Seriously - she told you to stop, she has stated that she's reported your harassment to the police, so you shouldn't need any further explanation: just stop.

Let's put it this way: even if she were a serial killer, you continuing to contact her after being told STOP would have ZERO impact on the fact that YOUR actions may constitute a CRIME. No matter what HER issues are, if YOUR behavior fits within the elements of the crime of harassment, electronic harassment, or stalking, then YOU can expect to face the legal repercussions.

So you are a licensed mental health professional qualified to make that diagnosis?

That sounds like a co-dependency issue at the least.

Maybe you need to see a mental health professional. I'm beginning to think you were (and still are) the problem, not her.

And yet she's not the one potentially committing a crime in order to "feel better."

Harassment is illegal regardless of the method used.
