My question involves insurance law for the state of: Arkansas..... Hello my question is as follows. I lost my job back in July 2011. after leaving July 20, 2011, I found that my insurance was cancelled at the end of this same month. After a few weeks I was lost as to why I havent received my Cobra continuation paperwork and I felt she cancelled it after I paid for it. I contacted Dept of Labor about my concerns and they contacted my previous employer. The emoyer then turned around and sent me my Cobra after being lateat yhe beginning of Oct, in which she stated to DOL, that she was going to pay my premiums for August, Sept, and Oct, due to her cancelling and not sending me my paperwork within the time frame. Now this time has passed and the Employer has still not paid my premiums, in which DOL contacted me to ask about the coverage and found that the employer has still not paid as she stated she would. DOL contacted employer and found that employer has been neglectful as to what she stated in which now she has promised to pay Nov, and Dec as well which premiums were due ob Dec 17. Now upon her sending off the payment which was late, Dec. 18,now my Cobra insurance has been cancelled all together. Im curious as to what should I do next by not having insurance due to employer sending off to late and im not able to continue my coverage. Please let me know if there is a case to be filed and the maximum penalty for this neglect. Thanks for your expedient response......
