I have this friend who works for a company for almost 7 months already. She was told that her status is now permanent however there are no contracts to prove that she is indeed an employee of the company and a regular employee at that. Now her problem is that some of her benefits like her social security benefits which are regularly deducted from her are not being remitted and she came to know this because she have been confined in the hospital however was not able to use her medicare benefits since according the records there was no remittance. To make the matter worst, her salary was always given late. Is it possible for her to take the matter to the Department of Labor even though she has no contract to prove her employment? And if the company denies her connection with them? What are the legal remedies in her case?
