My question involves bankruptcy in the state of: Florida
My husband and I filed bankruptcy due to having to pay for multiple attorney's in his family law case to modify the marital settlement agreement. We included his ex's attorney of which we owed representation fees (the first set was approved by the family court judge, we appealed it (still waiting!), and then he refiled for more to represent her in the appeal, which of course the judge granted). We included her attorney in our bankruptcy petition and he never objected in the first 30 days, of which he could have disputed it. We received our discharge, and he now has filed a contempt of court since my husband didn't pay. Our bankruptcy lawyer said he needed to go through the bankruptcy court first, then, if they decided we still had to pay it, he could file the contempt of court order. What can we do??? This is absurd that he CONSISTENTLY does what he wants and gets away with it! Anyone know what we can do about this? Thank you.
