Caught in new york

i am a native californian, but i was caught shoplifting at a new york rite aid this morning. i took midol, which was valued at $6.99. the lady who caught me made me pay for the midol, then she took my picture and asked for my ID, and she took down some info. since the id was from california, is there a chance that she would send a letter to my home address? it would be bad if my parents got the letter.

when i asked her if this was going to go on my record, she said no and informed me that i was simply banned from the store, and if she ever saw me again, she would call the cops on me then. she said that the picture and info were only going to go into her personal file. i am hoping and guessing that this means the cops will never hear about this incident?
