My question involves employment and labor law for the state of: Kentucky
Recently, the company that I work for was bought out by another company and back in April we merged with the other company completely. I work in sales and our quotas and numbers were all messed up in the merger. We were told that until everything was fixed we would be paid half of our monthly bonus potential and that if we didn't make that much we wouldn't have to pay it back and if we made more we would be compensated accordingly once everything was fixed.
Everything has been fixed for months and things have been back to normal since October. This morning we were told that THE COMPANY CHANGED it's mind, we now had to pay back anything we earned over what we should have received. I now have to pay back $2600.00
The company I work for isn't small either, it's a international company that is very well known. The job has been great up until this point. I get paid a salary and then I get commission on top of that.
For the company to lie to us like this though, it just pisses me off. I'm trying to save for a wedding and a future and now I owe the company I work for $2600.00
What do I do?
