Question How Does an 18 Year Old Become Emancipated in the State of Virginia

My question involves guardianship in the State of: Virginia
I didn't know what to post this under but I have a question about how to become emancipated at the age of 18 in the state of Virginia. My parents live in Mississippi and Missouri, And I have not live with either of them since March Of 2012. From March of 2012 to May of 2012 I stayed with a family member. But then I move to Virginia in May of 2012. I am currently trying to go to school but I'm denied my financial aid without verification. To be there 5 I need 1 of my parents tax transcripts faxed to my school. Problem is neither of my parents will help out. Unless I can figure out how to get emancipated, I will not be able to continue school. I live with 2 roommates and together we all pay our rent. I have food stamps and medical insurance through the government. And I do hold a job as a babysitter while attending school. What do I need to do to become emancipated? I have to finish college. I want to and I'm being denied it. I didn't come this far to give up. Someone please answer my question and help me as soon as possible.

You are already legally emancipated as you are now an adult. If you want your school or the Dept of Education to recognize you as FINANCIALLY emancipated, you'll need to address that through the financial aid office at your college, and prove to their satisfaction that you've been financially independent of your parents (things like a lease in your own name, paycheck history, tax returns, etc.) or that you meet other hurdles that would qualify you as emancipated (such as military service or having dependents). If you meet either the US Dept of Education criteria, or your school's specific criteria, they can work with you as being emancipated. Worst case scenario you take one or two classes at a time and pay cash, or take out loans with private lenders to pay your tuition, or some combination.
