Default Getting Married Soon After F1 "Unmarried Son or Daughter" Immigrant Visa is Endorsed

My immigrant visa (F1 "unmarried son or daughter") has been approved and issued. However, I plan to get married in Guam soon (my fiance is a non-US citizen). If I enter Houston and have my immigrant visa endorsed at the port of entry, then get married in Guam (say within one week), will my immigrant visa be revoked because of the change in marital status too soon? Will this be considered as "visa fraud"?

Do I need to stay in Houston for some time, after my immigrant visa is endorsed, before I can travel to Guam? If not, do I need to go back to Houston immediately after my wedding ceremony? Can I come to Hong Kong (my birth place) to finalise the matters (e.g. resign from employment etc.) before going back to the US? Thank you very much for your advice!

You say "immigrant visa" - but then you tell us it's a F1 visa (a non-immigrant student visa). Please correct whatever part of your post was made in error.

If you immigrate and obtain permanent residency (the proverbial Greeen Card) your subsequent marriage won't affect your permanent residency.

    Dear Mr Knowitall

Thank you for you reply. I am referring to family-based category 1 "Unmarried Son or Daughter of US citizen" i.e. FB-1 immigrant visa. Sorry for the confusion.

Is there a grace period after entering the US with the immigrant visa endorsed before I could get married? I heard some cases may be regarded as "visa fraud" when getting married shortly after obtaining permanent residency.

What and how long are the process for obtaining permanent residency?
