My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: MA

i recieved a formal complaint from a cooworker several years ago. (allegations never materialized) That report made it into the hands of a cooworker who obtained the report from her boyfriend who opened the mail and it was not his responsabilty to open the mail.

She has subsequently used this in a report as retaliation when she was fired. Is my employer neglagent for allowing this information to reach an unauthorized employee? And subsequently exposing me?
