I worked for an apartment communtiy in Indiana. It is primarily a student community so the leasing season ends about the same time school starts, which is August.
Needless to say, work slowed down in August.
I came in one day and was told that money had been stolen from the safe. The safe mind you is in the property managers office which is always unlocked and is always open. Both the office door and the safe.
I volunteered for a lie detector test immediately when I was accused. I flunked the test!!
Confused by the outcome I just went about my business. The next day I was fired. 2 of the other employees took the test and apparently passed. Several people come in and out of that office on a daily basis, ie. tennants, vendors, maintance, and visitors. Shouldn't they have to give a lie detector test to everyone.
I applied for unemployment benifits and am recieving them, but it has been appealed and the hearing is in a week. Does any one have any advice for me on this situation when going to the hearing?
