Default Is Your Record Truly Expunged After Completing Deferred Adjudication

My question involves criminal records for the state of: Texas. I successfully completed deferred adjudication for a felony assault on a family member. I recently completed school and will be trying to look for a job in the medical field and I am worried that my time spent in school will be worthless if I can't get certified by the state. Will my charge keep me from getting a good job?

There are literally hundreds of threads in this forum explaining expunction in Texas. Read them.

If the court ordered your record expunged, then presumably your record was expunged. If not and you qualify for expungement (i.e., you successfully completed a deferral for a Class C misdemeanor, or have obtained a pardon), you must file a petition and ask the court to expunge your record. The same goes for sealing, assuming the charge was not a Class C misdemeanor and the waiting period has expired.

I'm sorry to say that their is a good chance something will pop up. It probably hidden/sealed but it's not completely hidden and it sounds like you probably got an order of non disclosure which isn't as good as an expungment.
