My question involves criminal law for the state of: California
I stole 210$ worth of Walmart groceries and pled guilty after being unable to afford a private lawyer or pd ( husband made too much, but I never saw any $)
I was given 1500$ fine, 3 yrs. informal probation ending August 2014, Book& Release, and stay away from all OC Walmarts.
So, I was able to make payments and I missed the 1st payment (I did try to contact them) and got a lawyer to pay the 1500$ in January 2012. I was found not in violation of my probation.
So more recently, I,contacted the pd office (I quailified this time) and was told that no judge would allow me to end probation because I agreed to three yrs. informal probation and I have to wait till April 2014, 6 months prior, because it actually ends in January 2015 to even attempt to apply to end probation. I didn't know that!
Anyways is this info right or is it you get what you pay for?
